Week 8

Even though I  did not receive a response from my international contacts I believe that interacting with professionals from other countries would help appreciate how we handle early childhood education as well as gives us  new tools and  information to engage our self and the children we serve.

I am an individual who loves  to learn and lean new ways of  doing things. So I believe that international contacts could only be a plus for me.

I would challenge  those who work in the Early Childhood Field to try to continue to make Early Childhood a priority and make sure that all children are afforded a free appropriate education regardless of his or her families dynamics. Although this was a rough semester for me  I really enjoyed reading everyone's post and interacting with all my classmates.

  1. Laketha,
I have enjoyed reading your blog. I also would second your challenge about making Early Childhood a priority. All children need to be educated regardless of the families from which they come from or financial situations. I pray that we can make a difference in the lives of our children, schools and our community through the knowledge we have gained on these issues! Best of luck and I hope you have a better next semester!

  2. Laketha,

You have shared some great insights throughout the course and I thank you for being my classmate and colleague in the EC field. Although your international contact did not respond, we now have resources and contact information with which you can continue to try and build networks and get all the eager exposure that you are positive and right about. I wish you the very best.

In my blog I shared that all EC professionals should have the true goal of wanting the best for children and you definitely have that passion in you. So, good luck in all your endeavors.

    Best,
    Divya

  3. I also had trouble reaching mt professional contacts but I think that there was a lesson learned in the process. As professionals we need to make ourselves available to those entering the field. Collaboration works both ways and everyone involved has a lot to gain. Great post!
