The research topic that I have chosen is How does ADHD affect
school performance in preschool. I think most children with ADHD can be
diagnosed in preschool but do to their age a lot of physician like to wait
until the children are in grade school before a diagnosis is made. I chose this
topic because I have a son who experiences ADHD and has been diagnosis’s since
kindergarten.
I really did not understand the process at first, but I hope
I have chosen a topic what would be of interest to me and well as my classmate.
Hi Laketha,
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the topic you chose for the research simulation. I am very familiar with ADHD and just recently completed a training to become more informed on the area when working with young children. I have noticed many children as early as 3 years old with symptoms of ADHD and I have referred the parents to the necessary resources. I think if the parent is adament that their child be evalated, the physician will comply with the parent's request. My husband was diagnosed with ADHD as a child and he still has a hard time focusing on one task at a time. I have learned to work around his diagnosis to get whatever work I need done around the house. I look forward to reading all the information you have to offer on this topic.
Thanks,
Shayla
