WEEK 6 EDUC 6164
When it comes to issues that I have experience with prejudice. I can remember an incident that took place on my job where I am a Social Worker. There were a few lady who are African Americans were laughing out loud an done of my co workers made the comment that " This is how they act" Once some other worker heard of the comment they were outraged and began questioning the individual why would he say that and he just could not understand what the problem was. He kept referring to African American's as "those people". I was outraged by this.

ReplyDeleteIt is easy for people who have never experience racism or "isms" of any kind to become bewildered when others are offended at their microagressions. This is a continuous battle that groups that do not fit into the dominate culture will have to endure.
