Week 2
"Children are a gift from
God"
A family that prays together stays together
“If you can't fly then run, if you can't run
then walk, if you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep
moving forward.”
The book I enjoyed reading is the
“The Napping House” I think this is a book that my son enjoyed really well and
I think it is very enlightening. There was a child that has touched my life was a child who was at a daycare where I was the Director. This child seems very depressed and was living in an environment that was not conducive. I began to talk to and nurture this child. I have called in a referral to the local CPS but the allegations could not be substantiated. This child really helped me realize that all children are a gift from God and should be treated fairly
Many years later I saw that this child had been taken into custody and that he had been abused physically and sexually. I felt very bad that this child has gone through so much for so long, but I was glad that he is at least getting some help.
I am mother of a child who has ADHD. I see how people look at and treat children with such a disability. I love to work with children because I want and believe that every child should be afforded an opportunity to become a successful, productive citizen.

LAKETHA'S THOUGHTS
When growing up I often wonder how one could educate adults whoa re in Early Childhood Education. As a current Social Worker I have spent many years in the Early Childhood Field. I love working with children and their families and I want to continue to work with the families who I come in contact with. I look forward to working with all of my class mates. Educating Adults in Early Childhood Education can be difficult but I think it can be a great experience.
